About us:
Doris Nordic Tribute Records (DNT for short) is a record label and mailorder distro founded in 2005 by Tynan Krakoff, and ended paused in December 2015 for a decade. In its first act, DNT Records had 88 releases (11 LPs, 52 cassettes, five 7″s, nine cdrs, eight 3″ cdrs, three VHS tapes). DNT had a soft relaunch in August 2025 to celebrate the 20th anniversary, and resumed the distro in April 2026.

DNT specializes in underground experimental/ drone/ psychedelic/ outsider weirdo music, releasing cassettes and vinyl. We stock hundreds of releases on scores of labels and growing. DNT’s headquarters has shifted over the years from Socal (La Quinta) to Olympia, WA, back to Socal (LA), to SF/Oakland, now based in Columbus, Ohio.

Are you going to/How do I get you to stock releases from a certain label or band?

We add items to the store as we get them. The best way to stay informed of updates to the distro is via our mailing list and social media posts. Feel free to recommend artists/labels to us to check out, we love hearing new music! We have also been away from the underground scene for awhile and you might be jogging our memory by suggesting something! Please ask us if we’ll stock *anything* you’re interested in! If it is your own label or project, you can send physical or digital promos to the DNT address.

Why did you end DNT/why relaunch?

You can read the statement I made on 12/31/15 when I announced the ending of DNT. I also made a blog post when we relaunched on 4/1/26. In short, I was entering a new phase of my life and wanted to end DNT on my own positive terms, and 10 years seemed like a nice round number. Now another decade has passed and it just felt right to return now!

Where can I find DNT releases aside from this site?

Back in the day, we were stocked by many distros and stores such as Revolver, Tomentosa, Fusetron, Eclipse, 905 Tapes, Volcanic Tongue, Norman, Aquarius etc. But most of these places are long gone. Feel free to email if you need help tracking down copies of any releases. Try Discogs too.

I work at a record store/am a distributor (or run a mailorder), how do I stock DNT releases?

How often do you ship packages?

DNT is mostly a one person operation, and aside from the label and distro I also work a full-time day job. I typically make postal trips once or twice a week and ship packages USPS Media Mail.

I’m going to be in Ohio, do you have a physical store I can visit?

At this time we do not have a storefront, and I operate out of my house, but I’m happy to meet for an exchange if it is convenient. In most cases you are welcome to come by the DNT HQ (my house) and spin records and chat about music (or a quick pick up!). Please email for arrangements.

At this time we do not have any direct booking capacity, but feel free to email us and we’ll try to put you in touch with the right people.
