Rodger Coleman “JOURNEY TO BRNO” cassette (Copy This!)

$7.00
Rodger Coleman studied at The New England Conservatory of Music where he met the future members of UYA (a/k/a Upstanding Young Americans) which, with the arrival drummer, Sam Byrd, began playing gigs around Boston and New York. UYA released an eponymous CD in 1991, a two-cassette set, “Live at the Willow” in 1993, and a recording of “Dancing Shadows” appearing posthumously on the Sun Ra tribute CD “Wavelength Infinity” (Rastascan) in 1995.

With the demise of of the band, Rodger relocated to Nashville where he established a home studio, recording self-released albums with Sam including the deluxe vinyl of “Cosmologies” (2014), the digital-only releases “Aphelion” (2015), “Perihelion” (2016), and “Imaginary Vinyl” (2017); and two limited edition CDs, “Who Doesn’t Fade?” (2017) and “The Mathematics of War” (2018).

“Journey To Brno” presents a selection of generative electronic pieces realized using a variety of instruments by Moog, Make Noise, Bastl Instruments, and others. Recorded live with no overdubs over the course of several years, this intimate, experimental music continues the explorations previously documented on “Real Gone” (2016), “Gone Again” (2017), and “Modular Meditations” (2019). Special thanks to D. Blake Werts at Copy This! for bringing this physical release of “Journey To Brno” to a wider audience.
